The common vein throughout or Conservatory of Haute Hair Artistry program is the belief that stylists are ARTISTS. Our classes are thus more appealing to a more sophisticated, intellectual stylist. Through our approach, hair is seen as the material for our sculpture, our palette, our canvas. Our instructors utilize a unique immersion learning technique which focuses on teaching to all 6 senses. This creates a more engaging environment, proven to increase information retention and comprehension, resulting in the BEST experience for our clients!

Sarah's expertise in the field of Massage Therapy and background in banking & business management gave her the skills needed to run the show at Head Game's new eco-friendly salon for hair & body. Her experience as a child of two hippies who survived solely on rice, veggies and tofu (and made her bring nori rolls to school -in fourth grade) is what REALLY makes her perfect for the job! Juggling weddings, client satisfaction, new product & service offerings all while keeping our lovely ladies happy at work comes naturally to a person with such a diverse background. If you're in need of marketing, advertising info, career opportunities or just about anything else related to the business, Sarah's your gal! Although Alanna gets to take all the credit for owning the joint, Sarah is the glue that holds Head Games together. (and she really calls all the shots ;-)

Katie- three words a-maz-ing! She is dedicated to service and appreciation. When you walk through our front door, she is there to greet you with a smile and will assist you with anything you may need. Whether it be scheduling an appointment, offering a tour of our facility, providing information about our products or serving you coffee or tea Katie aims to make our Head Games experience a great one! Her perky personality, healthy lifestyle & love of working out helps her run the daily Head Games show with ease. She is always up to learning new skills and expanding her professional and personal repertoire. Katie enjoys spending her days among some of the most talented & caring practitioners in Maine & has a special bond with our Massage Therapists, since she has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2007! Katie studied swedish, myofacial release, sports, hot stone therapy, prenatal, and deep tissue massage techniques and continues to train with the talented Massage Therapists of Head Games. While she is not directing our daily operations, Katie is learning to adapt her bodywork to the needs of the individual using different massage techniques. She also offers expert Younglblood Cosmetics services and air brushed tanning! When does she sleep, you ask? We have yet to figure this out.

She has trained under some of the most elite hair educators and has traveled all over the country and world to stoke her passion and industry knowledge. Simply put, Kate makes it her mission to stay on the cutting edge of all things relating to the beauty and fashion industry.
As our Director of Education, Kate is responsible for training every new Head Games hire and was a crucial component of the Conservatory of Haute Hair Artistry’s development and perfection. For her yearly signature class, International Inspiration, Kate travels to a new country and returns with the style secrets of the region. She then creates a specific technique based on her global experience & eduKates only Head Games® stylists to bring these looks to you! In 2010 Kate was invited by Davines International to become a color educator. She studied for many rigorous hours to learn the ins and outs of Hair Color Art, and now serves as Master Color Educator not only to Head Games, but to salons throughout New England! When it comes to formal styles, Kate's passion and creativity also thrive. Her designs and innovations have made her one of Head Game's most requested wedding stylists and she often works on location with local photographers. After spending time in Philadelphia studying Shiatsu Michelle decided it was time to balance her healing energy with her raw sense of style by becoming a stylist. Michelle loves sassy hair with volume but having fine hair herself, Michelle has always made it her mission to take limp locks and turn them into full body creations. Learning all the secrets in cutting techniques to the right products she will make your hair look effortless while finding tones and color to bring out your natural features.

After business school and five years in public relations agencies in Boston and Portland, Kristin has joined Head Games as an apprentice to begin a career that embodies her enthusiasm for creativity, health, beauty and helping people feel their best. A true believer in individuality, Kristin listens carefully to every client to give them exactly what they want, even if they aren’t quite sure what that is. From the latest trends to retro updos, Kristin encourages clients to find their own personal style.
An active Mainer at heart, Kristin truly believes that you never have to sacrifice style for function, whether you are cycling to work, climbing a mountain on the weekend or working on your fitness, you can always look your best. She is originally from Presque Isle, ME and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Realizing that her true love is in helping people find confidence through looking & feeling their best lead her to us. Jenna is now participating in the apprentice program at Head Games and she is very excited to learn in our hands-on environment. Her business background will be helpful in the day to day affairs at Head Games and her general love for people and beauty will allow her to excel in the cosmetology world. We are so proud to offer the services of Vanessa Cavallaro here at Head Games! Vanessa brings over 11 years of experience as a Nail Technician, along with a large, loyal clientele. Her clients love her because of her warm personality, her awesome hand massages, and her perfect polishes. Vanessa says, "I truly love what I do, and enjoy making my clients look and feel great!" She is a Portland native, and is a mom of two handsome little boys with her husband Rocco.
In addition to her nail care expertise, Vanessa also offers Customized Air Brush Tanning Services, and is excited to have recently begun her aesthetics apprenticeship at Head Games. Over the next year, she will master the art of skin care, gentle face and body waxing, lash and brow tinting, holistic body treatments, and will eventually earn a coveted certification as a Dr. Hauschka Aesthetician.

During her six years of practicing massage, Amy has developed a deep tissue focused approach combined with myofascial and neuromuscular techniques for her treatments. She enjoys helping her clients heal by providing customized treatments & treatment plans including stretches and other suggestions for you to maintain the healing process at home. Amy graduated from the Registered Polarity Practitioner Program in 2006. She holds a Level II Reiki Certification. She has completed a three year apprenticeship in Shamanic Healing with Dory Cote. Amy's focus on energy work affords her an integrated and holistic approach to working with the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. Using sound, essential oils crystals, shamanic journeying, and other tools, hands off and hands on, Amy is able to provide a unique healing experience. By healing energetic imbalances in the body, clients experience a renewed sense of connection, calm and spirituality.
Pre-natal massage is ideal for expectant mothers who may be experiencing back pain, edema, or other stresses. Amy is a trained Doula and able to offer suggestions which may ease the birthing process. Catherine has studied all aspects of massage during her four years of practicing massage therapy. Her technique combines aspects of swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue therapy, aromatherapy and reflexology. Catherine addresses the body with regard to structural alignment and posture, fascial restrictions, range of motion, and lifestyle habits to be sure you receive the best treatment for you. Each massage is ended with suggestions for self care in between visits, which results in longer lasting benefits from each session. She’s inspired every day by the opportunity to relieve pain and stress and help restore optimal mental & physical functioning for everyone she treats.
